haha. like yw mentioned, it'd been a really long time since i updated this blog.

school started just barely 2 months back, inclusive of float and all.
i must say it was quite enlightening.
from how i kept thinking it was impossible to build a float or to learn a dance at all to utter disbelief when the float was completed.
at least this experience allowed me to get to know the other 47 people i'll be spending the next 4 years with, for good or for bad.

schools hasn't been really a bed of roses.
lectures at 8am in the morning is just really draining.
luckily NUS is high tech enough to have things called webcasts.
haha. =)

friends are flying off here and there.
alan, leslie, timothy and waiyip have either already flown off or are going to fly off soon.
it's quite hard to fathom that we started JC life 5 yrs ago.
totally old already.

this recess week reminds me too much of "holidays" in JC.
where tests and exams were put just after them.
but i guess its inevitable in uni.

i think i just need sleep.
or at least another recess week?

being unemployed isn't as good as i thought it would be.

a few months ago i was at the bus stop when i noticed this notice someone pasted on one of the pillars.

it says....

"anyone who found this dog, please return to us. the dog has got a tumour and is scheduled for a surgery next week and need special medications daily."

den i realised someone wrote some stuff in pen...

haha. i didnt realise i have not blogged in such a long time.

went to Bangkok with some of my friends in mid May and had tonnes of fun and great food.
not to mention the stuff to buy there. altho i didnt buy a lot.

i'm finishing up my working stint with NUS Business School this coming friday.
quite happy. but at the same time am thinking of what to do during the free time.
haha.
they held a special farewell lunch for all of the temps.
the people here are genuinely nice people to work with,
and i must say i had a really good time here.

was following the AWARE incident via twitter.
i must say it was exciting...

its clearly a case of the big black witches against the defenceless white wingged angels.
from the live update i can only garner one conclusion.

The big black witches were bound to lose.

from the way Josie Lau screamed "Shut up and Sit down!" so many times...
that inspired people to design shirts with that slogan within 10 minutes. That clearly became the tagline of today's conference.

from Dr Thio screaming away for pple to respect her because of her age.
its like someone screaming away on a MRT to ask someone to give up their seat for her because she's old.

so yea i hope this concludes the AWARE incident.
which is so dotz.
and expensive at the same time.
spending almost 100k on that stupid event and debate?

that money could easily be spent elsewhere.
and only the person with the LOWEST possible EQ can possibly rebute that point by saying

"we made 120k with the new memberships! so what we spent is reasonable!"

pls. women pay 40 bucks a year to be ur member.
u spent whatever they paid u for a year in 1 or 2 months?

its quite disturbing when another possibly infectious disease starts its attempt to wipe out the human race.

ok that might have sounded a bit too scary.
haha.
but so far, so good.

at least Singapore's still have a squeaky clean record on confirmed swine flu patients.

recent days have been rather boring!
but hey! its MAY 2009.
its quite fast come to think about it.

a few more months, we'd probably be buried under books or notes.
which is seriously quite scary to think about.

just one thing to hope for!

NO SWINE FLU pls. i remembered how my dad nagged at me for coming home late during SARS. and i hope it doesn't happen again!

this morning, the 2009 Pulitzer Prize winners were announced.
the Pulitzer Prize has long been regarded as the highest national honor in newspaper journalism, literary achievements and musical composition.

looking through the list of winners, one caught my eye.
the winner of the feature writing category - Lane DeGregory of the St. Petersburg Times.

what happened was a 7 yr old girl was found living in a home with faeces of cats, dogs and humans smeared all over the wall.
wrapped up in diapers which were past saturated in a room with a four foot high mountain of use diapers.
the floor, freezer and basically everywhere else was filled with roaches, it was impossible to walk a step without crushing a few.

the girl was saved and placed in a foster home.
some kind soul adopted her and since then, she improved a lot.

because 85% of the human brain develops in the first five years of a human,
she was considered to be severely mentally retarded.
though she wasn't autistic or psychotic, she can hardly make sounds, not to mention speaking.

its so tough to think about the possibility of such people living in third world countries, let alone in the country with the most spending power (aka the USA).

quite disturbed by it.
but nonetheless, i'm glad at least this one got saved.

to all my juniors,
good job!
i really enjoyed the performance! =)

i remembered my SYF (or any other competitions) quite clearly.
which part of it you may ask.
i dont really rmb the exact day, but i remembered:

how we toiled and practiced everyday.
how we all became better musicians than before the SYF.
how we all got to become such great friends with each other.
how we all look back on this journey and not remember what we lost, but what we gained.

its the journey that matters more.
and its the memory of it that will seriously be with us for a very long time.

these two weeks have been quite tiring!
with tuition, work etc.
it seems like i should really take a break soon...

decided to stop work somewhere before the middle of june so I'd have at least 2 months to relax.

speaking of which SYF started.
went for Day 1 and Day 2 PM session.
i must say this year the standard's really quite high.
i love the set piece.
prefer overture no. 2. guess prob because 99% of schools choose the other one.

quite a pity AMK got penalised for exceeding the time.
but honestly, i would have been so angry if it was me.
the conductor should have known of the penalty.
they were just lucky they still scraped a gold.
which dumb blonde will go play a few more seconds or even take a 1% chance that that will happen.

but ACS(I) did well.
really quite impressed by their Symphonic Metamorphosis.

another thing I didnt get is why st nics got gwh.
their sound's definitely not gwh material.

maybe its because there were three judges from holland.

wad a way to jeopardize the university's credentials on the week of the release of the A level results.
that NTU student who stabbed his prof sure stirred up some fears everywhere.
this happening in Singapore is just as shocking as the massacre at Columbine High.

nothing big happened recently.
less the double birthday celebration we had @ No Signboard Seafood for wy and yw.
haha. even their initials are almost the same.
the food was good, it was also pricey. haha.
but nonetheless, it was a good reward for the completion of the second month of the year.

and that brings me to another topic.
one-sixth of this year is gone! LOL.

just like that.
time indeed does fly.

March is gonna be an incredibly dry month.
no birthdays, no public holidays.
but the most exciting of reality tv programmes should come in this month.
=D
but i am quite determined to work every single day this month.
=P

just spent 7 days in haikou, china.

it was quite an AMAZING experience.
lol.
totally amazing race.

flew off early in the morning and landed in haikou after a 3 hour flight.
talking about the flight.
the landing was the most horrible landing that i've ever experienced.
i thought my brain was exploding. haha.

after the 2 hour drive and all to the village.
saw bulls, rice padi fields etc.
it was a bumpy ride, like those in india on TV. lol.

after a four day stay in the village,
filled with chickens, ducks, firecrackers, fireworks, children, mahjong.

lol.
the kids there all possess a PhD in Mahjong.
totally li hai.
haha. i lost about 7 yuan overall, which wasn't even 2 sing bucks.
so its not that bad.
haha...

fireworks were amazing.
on the 13th day of CNY, all the different houses start to shoot fireworks in the sky.

and omg it was quite amazing.
haha. with stuff exploding above my head.
took some videos and pictures (all should be at facebook soon).

thats why it wasn't all that bad.
haha. but china tv kinda rocks.
so many channels.
and they were still going on and on about their olympics triumph.
not that they have no reason to.
haha.
every night they will air some sports and interview people in that sport.
a sneak peek into their training and personal life.

until one day i saw a special about zhang yining and i saw the ZYN and Li Jiawei match.
totally.
haha...

the people in the village were really nice to us.
perhaps because we were visitors.
the weather was great.
no mozzies and all.
nothing much to complain about.
the food was great too.
though it was almost the same everyday.

after day 4, we left the village for haikou city.
haha...
stayed at the hotel and all.
haha.

shopped around for 2 days. and bought nothing.
lol.
except dvds.
oooh perfect. LOL.
cheap dvds =)

the food was unbelievably cheap though.
in the village, we drive out for breakfast.
6 people eats, one bowl of unbelievably nice porridge, some you tiao.
it cost us 24 bucks.
CNY.
which means. omg less den 6 bucks.

totally cheap.

when we went out to the city, the food was damn cheap too.
one meal typically cost us 200 yuan, which was abt 40 bucks.
for 6 people. thats cheap.
haha.

had a dinner with 11 dishes?
lol. great great food. =)

shopping is totally dotz.
nothing to buy. but plenty of good street food.

we had oysters! bbq-ed with garlic on top and all.
18 for 2 sing bucks.

slept a good 13 hours last night. holy shit. didn't even eat dinner.

i want more family trips.
because i don't need to keep tabs about how much money to spend etc. =D

alright.

2009 came and for one lucky bastard, he got a new handphone.
he either sold it for cash or he is using it himself.

if he sold it for cash,
i hope he gets appendicitis when he buys food to eat with that money.
go to the hospital, enter surgery and ends up having a complication.
spending 10k in the hospital.

if he is using it himself,
i hope the phone gets overheated and explodes in his ear when he's talking on the phone.
and make him permanently deaf.
if he becomes blind, even better.
so he can no longer prey on people's property.

ok after cursing that guy,
i must say its my mistake i allowed him to get tempted to steal my phone.
my 4 month old E71 got stolen when I was playing badminton.
my unattentiveness and assumption that all singaporeans are kind creatures made it a wonderful place for theives to flourish.

and so i'm stuck with my brother's old phone.
yucks.
but not for long. i hope.

2008 was the year of many many fond memories and happenings.
5 things/events that i remember most fondly (or hated with much bated breath) are:

1. WRITERS' STRIKE
For those of you who don't know what the writers' strike is. The writers to all major american sitcoms or dramas went on a strike, protesting for 14 weeks and 2 days. holy shit. that meant that all dramas and sticoms like my favourite shows were all suspended. BECAUSE THERE'S NO ONE TO WRITE THE SCRIPT. wth. definitely something i hated the most in this year. fortunately, reality tv shows went on as they are unscripted. maybe thats the reason I didn't die of boredom. but otherwise, this year's television was really great. almost everything I watched produced good stuff for viewers. i love foreign tv. but well some said little nonya is damn nice also. so perhaps can give mediacorp some kudos for producing something that generated all these hype. haha.

2. MARIS STELLA SYMPHONIC BAND ALUMNI
Well, looks like we made it another year in this organisation. I honestly wonder how much longer we can all stay in the band and make music. when Uni starts, when schedules get tighter, it seems that if we do want to stay in this band, we'll have to either sacrifice something or manage our time really really well. but hey, i believe this band is just another wonderful platform for us to meet, chat and what not, and we should totally make use of that. very glad that kel and bernard decided to come back again following a N year hiatus. fueled by the win in SIBF, let's see if we can make a miracle in 2009 to get enough sponsorships to make people wanna go for WMC. ha!

3. TABLE TENNIS
Following the nation's sudden passion for the sport, the gang started learning the sport a few months back under jinyan's persuasion and we never looked back. It was like learning a new sport altogether, just like how we learnt badminton. Table tennis (or TT) is now just another part of our lives.

4. ORD
i wouldn't say i remember a thing about how i felt before i ORD or when i got my IC. it seems just like another ritual that every guy goes thru and I'm glad i finally completed these 2 years. to think that i was quite sad after coming back from the hongkong trip with the gang because i am due to enlist 3 days later, thinking how time is passing by DAMN slowly and totally thinking that the ORD date would never come. it came though, slowly and steadily. but it still came.

i guess its just these 4 things that are etched quite deeply in my mind.
with that, i happily round 2008 off by setting 9 new year resolutions for 2009.
some are relatively easier to achieve and some (like no. 1) sounds damn difficult.

1. SAVE UP!
2. do well in school when it starts.
3. pack my room more frequently. haha =P
4. exercise more to prevent myself from expanding any further!
5. learn to appreciate the many good things in life.
6. be safe and healthy.
7. buy only cheap and good things (contridicting no.1 but buying stuff seems rather essential.)
8. spend more time with my family and also my friends.
9. last but not least, enjoy life.

this year was great, until lehmen brothers collapsed.
after which the new year's outlook is what is described as GRIM.
totally harry-potter-like. LOL.

therefore i'm extremely glad that we're entering uni next year.
by the time we graduated, hopefully the market would have picked up a little.

my family,
thanks for a great year and i wish you another great year ahead.

2009 is what i call a highly anticipated year.

i was sitting at the bus stop with bernard after our little table tennis session just now, when i realised.

that exactly in 7 days time, it'd be 1st Jan 2009.

i honestly have no idea what I did in 2008.
but 2009 seems like a rather exciting year.
not for the economy of course, with pple saying that its gonna be dark and gloomy.

but that only makes me think of Harry Potter.
haha.

alrighty!
xmas 2008 was quite fun.

first up was the VJC gathering @ Jfoo's house.
it was quite really fun with the gift exchange and the caroling.
but i so wanted to be lucky for once and get that bottle of vodka (which is probably now in muscular glen's house)
haha. i got fujing's sugar free chocolates in a coffin.
well. the box just looked like a coffin.
haha.

den it was xmas eve, it was raining in the morning and I woke up one hr later den usual.
i tot i was gonna be late.
but 151 Fast Forward saved my life.
haha...
we had a little Biz Sch lunch, where the food was really not bad.
and den the people in office started exchanging presents.
and the temp stuff actually got presents too!
totally shocked but was quite happy.

after work, chionged home to rest and went for francis's xmas party @ the sleezy Orchard Hotel.
haha.
it wasnt as sleezy as I thought it would be.
perhaps because of its neighbour (Orchard Towers), it just appeared to be another sleezy place.
it was fun. very nostalgic seeing all the old friends.
it wasnt awkward, we still had topics to chat about.
I had a great time just talking rubbish with all of them, and I can't wait for the next gathering that someone might organise.
=)

this christmas,
was really about reunions and gatherings.
it kinda made me wonder how wonderful the times were when we were younger.
but I'm glad that I've made the friends I've made.
people whom made a difference to my life, and I just know that I won't forget anyone unless I get Alzheimers in the future (touchwood). haha.

2 days of freedom!

last friday was my ORD! haha.
and for many many other people, it was their ORD too.

I'd say it ain't as exciting as I thought it would be all along the two years.
but I'm glad I finally finished repaying what guys owe the nation - 2 yrs of their lives.

had breakfast with the whole bunch of NSF clerks at some ulu shop in sembawang.
but their pork rib noodles are really really good.
the surroundings are quite picturesque.
a good place for breakfast.

den exchanged my clearance form for my IC and stuff.
before I left the office one last time at 12 noon.

after which, the BMT people met up at had a dinner at the Glass House.
it was kinda good to see everyone again.
ok maybe not everyone, but 17 people attended the gathering.
quite a number I'd say, up from 11 (iirc) last time at seoul garden.

took quite some pictures (they are all at facebook).
haha. loved how sunshine conquered the fish n co seafood platter for 2.

apparently, he already conquered the manhattan one.
someone should give him a prize. haha...
=P

rested really well for the weekend.
before I started work at NUS Business School Career Services.

it's a cool place i guess.
with loads of nice people.

i'm still superbly not used to the fact that we get to call "regulars" at work by their names now.
after how we call almost everyone in office "sir" and "mdm".

haha. the job scope is pretty much hectic at the start.
to clear rooms and stuff.
but its almost finished and maybe less of such labour-intensive jobs next time.

back to my favourite hobby.
Survivor and TAR both ended with their finale episodes the past two weeks.
for survivor, I must say it was a rather deceptive season (which i like).
and for TAR, I just hate the ending.

actually Surivor's winner sucked too.

looking back.
both seasons had sucky winners to me.
but its ok! a two month wait and Survivor: Tocantins and TAR 14 will be out!
i seriously cannot wait for both series.
meanwhile i guess i'll just be stuck with Grey's Anatomy and House M.D.

thinking back. it sort of seemed like 2 years was quite short.

but hell no. two years was damn long.
the two years are gonna come to an end this friday (this sunday specifically).
haha. the feeling of cheating them of two days is such a thrill.
but they cheated me of two years so it seems so unfair.
but who cares, i'm gonna go back to my civilian status in 4 days.

holy shit an shaung.
haha... though countless people have screamed "ORD LO!" in my face for the past one month.

haha. it seem like time indeed does fly and thanks to the need to defend my country, 10% of my youth is given away as a free gift.

argh.

bought myself a new laptop.
finally.
after that fugly but faithful fujitsu died after it turned 3.5 yrs old.
haha.
pretty happy with the new one. =)

and as always.
dec's the end of the reality tv season.
with the amazing race season finale in about 8 hrs time.
it only serves to make me look forward to two things.

Before I ever comment on the three letters above in my title, got something to share.
My four yr old fujitsu laptop breathed its last and didn't respond to any resuscitation efforts which included a trip down to the service centre or CPR. Lol...

So now I am officially quite handicapped and bored at home.
I'm using the desktop till my bro come back everyday. Den going to my phone, like now.

Haha.... Wi-fi's my best friend without a laptop.
Beside what laptop to get now. It seems that there are a lot of choices.
Ha... will be a difficult choice. (and obviously an costly one)

Now to the issue of my title.

Haha.... All of u got ur coveted civilian status.
Which I will get in about 30 days.

botched marketing techniques...

well.
this month's flying past again.
and the next time u read that sentence on this blog, i'd be over the moon.
because that means dec is coming! omg.
haha...
but before me and jy ORD, hs and aaron will ORD first.

speaking of which, we attended aaron's ORD parade today at Hendon.
haha.
after which we went down to bakerzin in suntec to have our dinner.
because they have this promotion for a meal set.

SGD13.80++ gives us a soup of the day, a main course, a drink and unlimited bread.

which sounds like a good deal.
haha.
so we happily ate and at the end of the meal, we felt full and the price of the desserts were rather ex. so we asked for the bill.

it came up to 15 plus bucks each. den they gave us a 5 bucks voucher.
so we decided to use it on a slice of cake.
and den we enjoyed a yummy black forest cake.
and after which the bill came again.
i paid SGD2.25 for the cake. =P

and den voila! i discovered they gave me ANOTHER 5 dollar voucher.

and we were thinking of ordering another dessert but we dumped the idea in case they start chasing us out.

but if it have worked. and i just keep calling for the bill after every cake.
i can eat a cake at 2.25 and save 5 bucks a cake.

in other words, i can order my set dinner, pay for it. get the voucher. use it on haosiang's dinner.

and repeat the cycle.

omg. we'd have saved loads of money.
haha...

i have been sooooo totally out of touch with mandarin pop nowadays.

so before the new month arrives, i've a few things to do.

1. listen to more music.

soon it'd be 10 days.
and finally. it'd be 10 hrs.

i think i wont be able to sleep on the 11th of dec.
probably gonna just chiong my whole way through and go collect my ic with panda eyes.
went home on the same bus as my mdm and my understudy.
apparently, my understudy stays opposite the road from my mdm.

and I stay abt 6 bus stops down the road.
looks like we were all fated to be in the same dept.

just applied to relief teach.
we'll see what happens with it. =)

i was never that happy when the end of the year was coming.
for the past few years (except last year).
the end of the year just meant prelims, o levels, promos and a levels.

wth is so nice abt the end of the year.
last year, the end of the year was quite a happy one.
after my knee operation and all.

this year's end of year is probably gonna be the best I've ever had.
the most liberating one.
the most assuring one, i hope.

the month of october.
two more months for some.
one more month for some.

but in the end, all of us ORD! =)

can't wait.

there's no doubt secondary school days were the best days of my life.
not to say that primary sch days or jc days were dreadful.
but secondary school days trumps both the other periods because we were so outrageous.
haha.
sometimes. thinking back on what we do with stupid nike water bottles in maris stella really cracks me up.

if we ever did that in primary sch, it'd be disturbing.
if we ever did that in jc, it'd have been childish.

had a final gathering with the bunch of Aloysians @ waiyip's place.
reminiscing about the old times, while creating new memories is just so nice.
seeing old friends for the first time in years, but joking and chatting like we've never been apart.
just a wonderful feeling. =)

eagerly awaiting the planning of another gathering! =)

also. the wait for ORD is quite torturous now.
we're in the middle of nowhere.
lol.
for those who ORD in nov, they can see their light already.

the fall schedules of many american TV stations are really giving away visual treats.

first of all, the 5-time emmy winner of outstanding reality tv programme,
THE AMAZING RACE is back with its season number 13.
really great casting.
back on sept 28 in USA, and hopefully channel 5 decides to broadcast it. =)
since it almost guarantees ratings.
haha...

and secondly!! the 5-time emmy nominee of outstanding reality tv programme,
SURVIVOR is back with its season number 17.
haha. real long series. but outstanding in each and every way.
back on sept 25 in USA, and similarly USA better telecast it.
lol.

thirdly,
PROJECT RUNWAY is already showing its newest season 5.
already 7 episodes in. and channel 5 is only telecasting SEASON 4.
one freaking season behing USA.
why even telecast when it's not the latest version.
its just like telecasting the opening ceremonies of the olympics with a delay of 4 years.
who will care to watch it.

fourthly,
AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL, or better known as ANTM is back with season 11.
on the CW network on sept 3.
it features the first transgendered contestant on any reality show.
should be worth a good watch.

i experienced something wierd this morning.

well i slept at 12 midnight.

the next moment i woke up.
stared at my handphone (put under my pillow) and looked at the time.
i only saw the minutes and it said "40".
well that just meant i was late.
i rushed off to the bathroom and on my way passed by my dad's bag which he brings to work.

i wondered "why is he still home?"
i started bathing. silently cursed the heater for warming up water so slowly.
after i finished bathing, i put on my uniform and i was so ready to go to work.
just before i put on my socks, i stared at the clock above my door.

the minute hand was on 55. but the hour hand was just about to cross the digit "2".
"ah. the battery is out."
i took my sister's watch and illuminated it.
it read "1.50".

i was stunned.
it truely was 1.50a.m.
holy mama.
i felt a bit wierd.
as if i weren't myself.

and mind it, i even put on my contacts and all already.
i rinsed my hair, thinking about how stupid i was.
changed into sleeping attire.
and once again climbed into bed.

.
.
.

and the next moment i wake up.
it was only freaking 5a.m.
wtf was wrong with me?
first of all, i never wake up even if there're 10 alarm clocks ringing away.
secondly, i hardly had enough sleep for the past few days because of gossip girl.

i continued to sleep.
the next moment it was 6.45a.m.
and i was rushing to get out of the house.

my mum joked that i might need a psychiatrist.
do i?

just watched the 1om mens' diving and saw australian Matthew Mitcham snatch the gold from China's Zhou Luxin.

it was just spectacular to see how people won't give up though they know its either they give the performance of their lifetime or they lose.
and he did. a 112.10 final dive was more den enough to overcome the 108 point lead China had.

its kinda amazing how they stay so optimistic after they are so far behind.
i guess psychological training in sport events are an essential part of the games' preparation as well.
and maybe such training shld be incorporated somewhere so that non athletes like us can also be real optimistic about life, and not give up at the slightest thing that obstruct our paths that are clear as still water.

i'm kinda sad that the olympics are ending.
it was such a great showing from all the nations.
especially china.
i haven't been confident of their hosting of the games at first.
guess they proved me wrong.
certainly, they gave a specatular opening ceremony and i can totally expect the same for the closing ceremony 20 hours from now.
security was good. didn't hear any bad news. at least not that bad news.
i wonder if london 2012 will be able to deliver.
i sure hope they do.
if not no more nice showings also not nice. haha.

and i was also watching the 50km walk. omg. they walk one round in the bird's nest.
den exit and walk 24 laps outside before going back in.
they take 3hr 40 mins thereabout. holy mama.
that means their 2.4km WALK only takes 10mins 30secs.
and mind it. its their "walking" speed.
totally. i mean if they run sure below 7 mins.
lol. so crazy but i'm so shocked at how they can walk for 50km.
imagine its held in singapore...
walk from changi airport to boonlay aka one end to the other is only like 40+km.
and they do it in 3.5 hrs. lol.

i hate that the olympics is ending.
i hate that august is ending.
because september is totally boring.
with zero holidays.
omg. it'd be a miracle to pull thru.
and once we get past sept, its 1 month for aaron and hs.
and 2 for me and jy.
totally excited!

sleep, to me, is super duper important.
i can easily sleep for 10 to 12 hours.
but work comes along and i can only sleep for 5 to 6.
abt 50% of satisfying sleep duration for me, at least.

well i can always sleep early. like at 8pm.
to achieve that irritating 10 hrs of sleep.
but how would my schedule be den?

6am - 6pm = work
6pm - 8pm = dinner + slack
8pm - 6pm = 10 hr sleep.

i mean. its quite pathetic when u only spend quality time with yourself on your "oh-so-comfy" bed for 2 freaking hrs per day.
that's like less den 10% of a day's 24 hrs.

argh.
i so swear that when i ORD,
i'd do a few things.

1. earn money (if not uni can really eat shit already)
2. sleep a lot (and i really mean a lot, its like repaying a sleep debt)
3. go overseas (sort of contridicting my first point, but a little relaxation is required)
4. sleep.
5. sleep.
6. go out with friends.
7. sleep.
8. sleep.

and it goes on and on.
freaking hell. 80 more working days if i never count wrongly!

i just need to get past them. =)

argh.
and i shld just sleep now. 5 hrs and 40 mins to the time i need to wake up.

its been a torturous month.
and i really do mean a really really torturous one.

haha.
band pracs almost everyday.
it was worse den preparing for SYF when we were back in our secondary school days.
preparing the same songs every single day was just the same as eating the same lunch every single day.

but we got our moment.
twice in fact.
the first moment in NBC,
when we realised the world isnt as kind and nice as we thought.
the second moment in SIBF,
when we completely understood the meaning of a sweet victory.

this month have been soooo taxing.
my schedules were all packed up.
i was spending time with my fellow band mates longer then i was spending time with my family (not to say i spend a lot of time with them).
finally i can not see the band room for like a short while before we return again for more music making.

this band is not only about music making anymore.
its a place where friendships are born, maintained.
where jokes are made and we laugh together.
where we all find pride and fun in what ever we do because we all found what we enjoyed in life through the music.

to all myfriends.
its been a good ride!

to my section,
its had been real fun working with all of u!
though there were times of frustration, wrong notes, disturbing pitchings.
but we made it through.
and i dare to say that we were one of the few sections that didn't have any attendance problems.
haha.
its been a joy slogging thru music scores this time and i look forward to more!
=)

and to all my fellow band mates,
its been a big month, maybe even two months of preparation.
but i believe that the moment when we started screaming like mad dogs on the choir gallery made up for all disturbing things like:-

1. the meals skipped
2. the sleep missed
3. the fatigue
4. the tv shows missed.

and much more.

LOL.
we made sacrifices.
but i'm sure it was worth it!

it seemed that we were going into things with a little too high expectations.

the aftermath of everything is so real.

just like how waiyip was talking about how it'd be so empty after the month of july w/o all the alumni pracs.
it'd honestly be kinda empty.
the alumni band had not only helped us realise the satisfaction from making good music.
it has already become an avenue where we meet up.
have lunch and talk cock/business like we used to in secondary school.

it's really hard to imagine us being so tight and close to each other should this band not exist.
we won't even be talking about meeting three to four times a week.
we'd be fortunate enough should we be able to meet once a week.
catch a movie every fortnight.
or have a decent meal together every month.
the band had served more den a sole purpose of creating good music.
it brought people together.

oh and i learnt two new terms today...
BFF = Best Friends Forever.
and the other one i forgot le. haha...
hopefully, the band forged bonds between people that will go on to be BFF.

=)

listening to our recording last night made me more than satisfied with our performance.
its just because our time to shine even brighter is not at NBC.

the Maris Stella Symphonic Band Alumni added another gold to our collection.

i think we did well! haha...
managed another gold.
we should be proud of it.
especially when we never tried to emotionally blackmail our competitors using perfectly ridiculous reasons.

we played fair and square and we should be proud of that.

but it was soooo bitter sweet.
it had been such a long and tedious route.
every step of the way, it seems like we're only worrying abt music.
but thats so not true.

people have been trying to trip us on the way with stones.
its getting so frustrating for us to deal with:-

1. music.
2. bitches.

wait a minute.
maybe point number two should be a singular noun.
that bitch.
why can't we enjoy the process of music making and skip the back-stabbing part.

its nice to watch on tv (aka survivor) but definitely not nice in real life.

these few months have really affirmed what i felt about the people around me.
like however mushy it may sound,
it seems impossible to forget anyone who have ever been a part of my life.
totally emo. but true.

even a simple lunch or meal together can be such a joy.
dinner at home is also delicious.
my mum never fails to amaze me with her cooking.
and i dun think i'd ever become sick of it.
provided she don't cook the same thing three days in a row.
haha.

dinner outside with friends are also great.
argh.

food is always good.

oh and i passed my driving test.
good in the sense that i won't have to spend anymore money.

ok to put simply, he's almost a reject from some where else i believe.

went to Alexandra Hospital today.
for physio.

its getting real wierd.
my coordination and balance of the left knee is fugly.

but e most fugly thing is not that.
in e middle of the physio session, had a stomach ache.
so went to the toilet.

**after i finished my business**

i opened e door.
and omg i saw an old man in hospital gown being held at his arms by some female indian attendant.
den she asked me "do you mind bringing him in and asking him what he wants?"

like of course i said "eh ok"
after which i helped him, like support him till e toilet bowl.
den after he sat down, he sort of gave me the "what-the-hell-are-you-doing-here" look.
den spoke in some gibberish dialect.
for dialects, i only understand what is eat. so yea.

i'm like "as if i wanna be here lo."

den i went out of the toilet lo.
skali he lounge up of the toilet bowl and start whacking me.

den e indian female attendant asked "so what did he want?"
"ha. i've no idea what he's saying. but it looks as if he wanted to shit, cause he went straight for the toilet bowl."

den she said nvm and i returned to my regime.

first after i reached e hospital...
was asked to change into disposable undies (omg), and a skimpy dress followed by a kimono.

den... they wheeled me to some place...

thats when i realised how important my health is.

got e scan results.

well apparently, my left medial meniscus has a complex tear.
and for that tear, an minor day-time telescopic operation.
soon i hope.

and i've got a baker's cyst (cool name yea!) in my left knee too.
it sorts of accumulates fluids and stuff.
so i've got two options.
one is to keep draining e fluid w needles (yucks)
or i also can have an op to remove it totally (sounds better eh)

compared to vienna or pariss (which sucks).

thinking back into our sec sch times...
going to swensons or sizzler was like a luxury...
could still rmb how we will gorge ourselves to make sure we made full use of our money.

in e army, one just have to keep counting down e days to a book out.

thats probably e way people spent their two yrs of their lives.
looking forward to weekends like we never ever did.

but monday to friday was just about equivilent to weekends.

basically the week that just flew past was quite enjoyable.

its the time of the week again...

had IPPT on friday...
and on e very same day, my thigh muscles and back muscles already started to ache.

never in my life did muscles start aching on e very day of exertion.
LOL.
it was so bad on saturday that i was squirming in pain whenever i stood up or sat down.

horrible.
and to make things worse...
i left all my scores in camp.
since i took them in to transpose some of them.
well done.

so hymn to e sun was.
omg-ly disastrous.
band prac was not that bad.
climbing e thousand stairs at maris was.

after that went to sakura tpy to celebrate zc and fredy's bdaes.

but nice company.

it has been so much fun since i was in the alumni band...

really glad that there is this opportunity to continue creating music, whether pleasant or not...
with my seniors.
i still rmbed e many sufferable practices we had for WMC and NBC.
and also the wonderful experiences in Europe.

i am recently hooked onto some show...

this show is gonna be produced by singapore soon.
and i believe its quite addictive.
well... at least the UK version is very addictive.
